Eternal Darkness

a - eternal darkness

I watch them avoid obscurity

scuttle towards the light to worship.

I bask in shadows bathed in moonlight

amongst the monsters of the night.

Where they see danger, I see haven

I know no peril awaits me there.

Where they see horror, I see beauty

demons are heavenly to me.

A clawing scrape, a screeching cry

are my own personal lullabies.

Stench of death, putrid flesh

fill my lungs with every breath.

Let them have their sunny days

their barbeques and holidays.

Beaches filled with pallid skin

lotion-coated burning limbs.

Give to me a blood red moon

chilling mist, feeling of doom.

Gripping fear tightens my chest

I embrace eternal darkness.
