Difficult Conversation

a - internal conflict

I tried to talk to you today,
in jumbled words that made no sense,
to you or me.
Remember when we used to talk
for hours on end,
never tiring of the sound
of one another’s voice.
Maybe we will again, someday,
understanding, on the same page,
but for now we are strangers,
in the same soul but different worlds.
I tried to talk to you today,
but you weren’t ready to hear me out,
I’ll try again tomorrow,
in the place we both reside.
