Seduction Street

Footsteps echo in the silence,
of a deserted street veiled in despair,
no merry revellers dare walk this direction,
unspoken understanding never to venture down there.

Except one, who entertains death in the darkness,
the more daunting, the more alluring, to him,
he enjoys solitude and the aroma of death,
and the nightly hope that someone strays on a whim.

This night, his longing is rewarded with a gift,
a young man with heavy heartbreak on his mind,
too distracted to sense the danger that awaits him,
or perhaps too desolate and morosely inclined.

His lack of care would be his final regret,
as he’s embraced by death in the form of a man,
one sweet kiss, all it takes, to overcome him,
his demise bringing an overwhelming sense of calm.
