Just Like You Knew

a - Just Like You Knew

I swallow the pain, allowing it to fill me up,
every last drop, from your ever-giving cup.
As it runs through my veins,
I whisper my never agains,
into the silent darkness surrounding me,
all the while knowing,
I will.

I’ll allow your love to devour me whole,
I’ll dive right in, despite all I’ve been told.
I’ll bask in the warmth of your energy,
knowing exactly what it could do to me.
Ready to drink from the cup,
when things go wrong,
just like you knew I would,
all along.
