Excuses

a - excuses

My excuses have become too familiar,
I now recognise them for all that they are.
They may think they can hold me here forever,
only I can allow them this power.
Recognition is key to disarming them,
so, I now greet them as I would an old friend.
My excuses have become too familiar,
now I have the control and ability to make them end.
