Conviction

conviction.jpg

She feels alone in this world

Save for a few who truly understand

How can we be surrounded by so many people

Yet feel stranded in an unknown land

She looks around at their faces

Eyes evasive

She’d never fit in this world

That much was undeniably conclusive

Yet with conviction to admire

She would try day after day

To somehow engage with these people

Who would not give her the time of day

For it said more of her character

Than it ever did of theirs

She may be a stranger in these lands

But she was sure of her own way.
